In March 2016 we attended our first Digital Gaggle conference at the Colston Hall in Bristol, the event is run by a local marketing agency who have attracted a great selection of industry experts to give talks to the audience which were extremely informative and interesting, I am sure everyone came away with ideas and plans based on what they learnt in the conference.
Talks at this event included Daniel Payne from Compsoft who discussed app development and whats involved from costs to how to make it great. Andy Headington from Adido discussed how the amount of data generated by us will continue to grow rapidly, each one of us has a mobile phone and nearly all with a camera taking photos and uploading to social media or blogs, this data for businesses and marketers will begin to show some interesting insight into data flow, what we do with it and how we react to it and this will then result in new opportunities for companies to use the analytics of this data to serve more relevant content to the user.
After a short break for coffee and muffins, yes muffins! further talks from Dixon Jones of search marketing consultancy Majestic, Josh Baldwin from Noisy Little Monkey discussing local and mobile search, or LoMo as its better known and Sarah Mead from Yeo Valley giving an insight into the Yeo brand and how it has evolved over the years and how that has been influenced by marketing, social media and search engine optimisation.
The event was a great opportunity to network with other agencies and companies in the industry and to be inspired by other companies and organisations either in the marketing industry or being affected by marketing and social media.
Following the event we came away with many ideas for our own websites and to be used on clients websites as well as being totally inspired by all the speakers at the event, we are certainly looking forward to 2017 and attending further Digital Gaggle events.
