Google has recently announced that from 1st July 2023 it will be turning off Universal Analytics in favour of its more modern and up to date Google Analytics 4.
Just over two years ago, Google announced Google Analytics 4 to address evolving measurement standards and help businesses succeed. Google Analytics 4 has the flexibility to measure various kinds of data, giving a strong analytics experience that’s designed for the future. It allows businesses to see user journeys across their websites, use Google’s machine learning technology to surface and predict new insights, and most importantly, it’s built to keep up with changes in web technologies and softwares.
With all websites we build for clients we always setup and install Google Analytics, and to date this has been Universal Analytics, we are now encouraging all our clients to upgrade to Google Analytics 4 early in order to capture data for nearly a year, this will allow the new version to have data for comparison purposes following the switch over.
After the 1st July 2023 the old version will stop receiving data and working completely, so if you rely on Google Analytics we strongly advise upgrading now, we will let our clients know how to do this. If you aren’t a client of ours feel free to get in touch with us to discuss how we can help.
We can setup GA4, install and test to ensure it is fully working, we can also ensure any other analytics code and tracking is correct and up to date.
